Architectural Graphic Communications: House Design

The term project for this class was to design a 1 story house in AutoCAD. Requirements included: Code Compliance with specifications that fit within North Carolina's residential building code, Accessibility, Scale with Plan View -- 1/8” to 1/4”= 1’-0”; Section or Elevation Views -- 3/4” to 1” = 1’-0”, Layers with each plan on its own layer(s) and paper space, Furnishing/Floor Plan, Electrical Plan, Foundation Plan, Roof Plan, Section View & Elevation Views.

Final Floor Plan Sketch

The first step of designing this house was to sketch a few options. The final sketch would be of a cottage-inspired floor plan measuring at 1,768 square feet.
